Woody Allen, once a famous Hollywood director, is now infamous for his pedophilia allegations.
During an interview with The Guardian, Allen, 84, spoke about the scandal that caused the shocks in the industry.
I assume that for the rest of my life many people will think I'm a predator, he said.
In 1992, it appeared that Allen was involved in an affair with his then partner's daughter, Mia Farrow, Sun Yi Previn, who was 21 at the time.
Amid the ugly separation from his partner, Farrow also accused him of sexual assault on his seven-year-old daughter Dylan.
Connecticut state attorneys said in 1993 that despite the possible cause, Allen would not be charged with avoiding the unjustified risk of exposing the child to the cruelty and doubts of doubtful litigation.
Thirty-four-year-old Dylan now claims, after years, that she was abused by her adoptive father, and claims that Allen strongly rejected her.
I thought people would immediately see it as ridiculous rubbish and from day one I didn't take it seriously. I mean it was like facing a story that killed six people with a machine gun
He also criticized all the celebrities who reported him after the scandal, including Colin Firth, Rebecca Hall, and Greta Gerwig. He had previously claimed in his recently released explosive memoir that Timothy Shalamit the star of her 2019 movie Rainy Day in New York, had made a public remorse statement only to work with Allen because of the pressure exerted by her sister. To increase your chances of winning an Oscar for Call Me By Your Name.
They are ridiculous. Actors have no idea about the facts and cling to a safe, public, and selfish attitude. Who in the world is not against child abuse. This is what actors and actresses look like, and [he told me] became like a heresy, like everyone was eating the turnip suddenly. He also said that the scandal was likely to become part of his obituary as well but he did not mind.
This is what it is and all I can do is keep my nose on the sharpened stone and hope that people will come to their senses at some point. But if not, no. There is a lot of injustice in the world much worse than this. Then you live with him.
