Gilgit-Baltistan Supreme Court received a notice on Tuesday that there was no Sue, and the provision of low-quality personal protective equipment (PPE) to medical assistants fighting the Covid-19 pandemic on the front line of the district.

The judge Malik Haq Nawaz referred to a request published by the Gilgit Baltistan Forum to raise awareness on its social media page noting that the lack of protection tools in government hospitals have seriously hindered the fight against coronavirus.
The judge ordered the Minister of Health, the medical supervisor, and the health officer in Gilgit to appear before the division bank on April 24 to explain their positions. In the complaint, the Forum urged the court to convert the request into a petition under Section 561-A of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The complaint alleged that poor-quality PPE was provided to medical professionals at Gilgit City Hospital as a result of being victims of COVID-19. He noted that there are no traces of medical equipment including international standard masks and personal protective equipment which the Chinese and federal governments recently provided to the regional government.

The forum claimed that officials distributed masks and personal protective equipment to their friends and personal employees.

It is reported that two members of the medical staff, including Dr. Osama Riad and the chief physician Malik Ashdar have lost their lives in treating COVID 19 patients in Britain.
