The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Health, Dr. Zafar Mirza, said on Friday that it would be "childhood" to say that all the deaths that occurred in the country were due to Covedi 19.
At a press conference in Islamabad, Mirza said that the primary way to determine if a person died from Covid-19 is a laboratory test. If tests are not conducted it cannot be said whether a person died from Covid 19 he said adding that without evidence, any conclusion would be just speculation.
SAPM added that the government will issue a notice in the coming days to doctors working in emergencies about how to receive deaths upon arrival or critical illness.

Mirza said: The notice will contain instructions on how and when these people will be examined if they are clinically suspected of having Covid-19.
Referring to media reports that the number of deaths in Sindh was much higher than reported Mirza said that the Health Minister in Sindh began the process of searching for contacts after some recent unexplained deaths which led to which he described as a welcome step.
SAPM said 6,264 coronavirus tests were conducted across the country on Thursday adding that by far it was the largest number of tests in a single day.

It revealed that Pakistan now has nearly a million test kits and that more than 20,000 tests will be performed per day by the end of the month.
Mirza said that these tests will help the authorities to determine people who have coronavirus whether they have symptoms or not.
He added that 60 percent of coronavirus cases in the country are transmitted locally.
Appreciating the nation's resistance during this period, SAPM said that the country has always joined the disaster. We are receiving contributions in the form of money, equipment and medicine not only from people in the country but also from Pakistanis who live abroad.
Mirza revealed that about 30 thousand Pakistani doctors are serving in foreign countries, adding that many of them expressed their desire to help during the epidemic.

He said the government is launching a technology-based platform called "Yaaran-e-Watan for all Pakistani doctors and nurses abroad who wanted to help treat coronavirus patients in the country.
