On Sunday, Minister of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Omar said that the government will use technology to track coronavirus cases and identify hotspots of the virus throughout the country to impose a smart block.

Umar told reporters at the National Command and Operations Center in Islamabad, according to available data, that Punjab was using a smart block in about 169 districts, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was applying a smart block in 177 districts. "This could be a big or small area like a street," he said.
Omar added that the government has completed work on a portal where data will be collected from 424 hospitals dealing with coronavirus patients in the country. Hospitals are already starting to enter their data. Through this portal, we will be able to know the exact number of beds, fans, and patients in each hospital.
The minister added that the government is also working on a mobile app that people can download to get information about coronavirus hospitals and facilities. If the test result is positive [for the virus], you can check the app to find the nearest hospital with facilities.

Umar said this is being done for the optimal use of the resources. Through this application, we will be able to avoid a scenario in which hospitals have facilities, but the patient cannot communicate with them because they do not know where to go he said adding that the portal and application will be launched. In the next few days.

He added that the government had committed to the network of the rural support program, which it said could reach more than 25 percent of the population. We will not only transmit awareness messages through them, but they will also determine where we need to send food, etc.

Umar pointed out that some people have stopped sharing symptoms of coronavirus or have proven positive results for fear of being transferred to quarantine centers. He explained that this is not necessarily the case and that the government issued a notice in this regard, saying that people who have an insulation facility in their homes should be able to do so.
He urged people to continue taking preventive measures because they are now more important than ever.

He praised the services of health professionals, rescuers, employees, and other front-line workers, and said that it is the responsibility of all citizens to take precautions so that the spread of the virus does not get out of control.
